People are desperate for any angle they can find to fight against cancer. It’s a disease that kills millions and one that can cripple the foundations of families and set people’s lives back even once they defeat this dreaded disease. Still, there is a long list of things that the world of medicine is doing to fight against the spread of cancer. And with that in mind a lot of drugs are seeking the approval of the FDA. While there are many great researchers out there finding things out every day for the fight against cancer and what could go into these drugs to make them beneficial, there is a lot of steps to take before a drug can become the next big step in fighting against cancer. Here is how some of these steps break down.
The first thing that has to be done is that these companies need to get approval to even start making the drug. Just to start making and using the drug is not an appropriate step. What happens is a lab does a ton of research to determine why and how a drug will even work. Once they decide if it will work they can then start to give drug trials. The FDA won’t approve a new drug if it hasn’t been tested on people, and if those tests haven’t been helpful. There is no need to approve a drug that hasn’t been proven to help.
The drug trials must record everything about the subject as well as how there process was going through it. If they are having trouble going through it or they experience any side effect then it must be documented and then it gets used in the paperwork to the FDA. This is the basic process as it which drug must be to get approval to be on the market. These steps are necessary and in many cases live saving.
