When you are diagnosed with cancer it is the beginning of a lot of things. You will find that it is the time to lean on your family and friends. You will find that it’s the time to find out just how strong you really are. You might take the time to be self reflective on your life and you might be self reflective on your mistakes. It’s a time where talking to a counselor or a therapist might do you a lot of good. It’s a time for you to make decisions you might not realize you have the power to make. While you might be fine just going with the flow and letting fate take it’s course, you should know that you do not have to do that. You can make big changes going forward that you think are in the best interest of your health.
Doctors
Just because a doctor is the one breaking the bad news to you doesn’t mean they have to be the one to take care of you. You might find that there is a better doctor out there that will make you feel more comfortable and confident. If this is the case then don’t feel bad for a second about getting rid of your doctor. He might not like it but he will have to understand that you must do what you think is best.
Hospitals
While you are changing doctors you can also change hospitals. Don’t be worried that your hospital will be mad. It’s assured they will not. If you find a hospital that is known to have a better treatment center than you would be foolish for not taking it.The most important thing is your health. There is nothing of loyalty to a doctor or hospital. Your loyalty is to yourself and yourself only. Remember that.
