Mission
WIN ABC is a national 501(c) 3
nonprofit organization dedicated to increasing public
awareness about breast cancer and ensuring that individuals
from all cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds receive
equal and rapid access to quality health care based on
evidence-based treatment guidelines and state-of-the-art
support, education and information about the disease.
Goals
To equip breast cancer patients with the knowledge and
culturally competent tools necessary to facilitate confident
and informed decisions regarding their treatment options and
overall health care.
To educate patients, their families and the public about
the importance of self-care, personal health responsibility
and how to partner with their health care team to receive
the comprehensive, quality care, information and support
they need.
To
provide ongoing one-on-one support for breast cancer
patients throughout their diagnosis, decision-making,
treatment and recovery continuum of care.
To collaborate
with the health care community, policy-makers, researchers
and the public to address the complex medical and
psychosocial issues facing breast cancer patients from all
cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds in order to ensure
improved standards of care, improved community outreach and
equal access to quality care for all breast cancer patients.
