Introduction by Betsy Mullen, Founder,
President/CEO, WINABC
“This class is for women, like you, who have
just been diagnosed with early stage breast cancer. When I was diagnosed, I
remember what a challenging time this was for me. You probably feel shocked,
anxious and confused, which is to be expected. You know that you will have tough
decisions to make, and I know from first-hand experience that there are many
questions that you need answered. The good news is, you do have treatment
options and time to make well-informed treatment decisions.
“The class has been designed to guide you
through this challenging time. This class has the very latest, up-to-date
medical information to help you with your questions. The more that you can
understand now, the better prepared you will be to work in partnership with your
health care team. Together you will be able to decide on the best treatments for
you.
“It will take up to two hours to complete the
class but you can go online whenever you want.
“I am sure that you will enjoy the class and
find it useful.
“For many of you, your physician recommended
this class so that together you will be in a better position to make shared
treatment decisions and manage your care.
“When I was diagnosed, I worked with my doctors
to make sure that I got the best treatments, and with their help, I have not
only survived , but have also thrived.
“I hope that this class will help you do the
same.”
