Posted by Stephanie on 2/20/2004 from 64.136.27.227:

I am a 30 year old mother of two (ages 6 & 8). For about two years now I have had a painful lump in my right breast. I figured it was a fibrocystic change and ignored it for as long as I could (I know, not the thing to do). In the last six months, the pain has gotten much worse, it does not come and go with my monthly visitor, and I have swelling and a burning sensation. The lump is smooth and sort of oblong or tubular shaped, about 1-1 1/2 inches long on the lower outer portion of the breast. My left breast is fine. I have had to resort to wearing a sports bra all the time because just the weight of my breast (little though they are) is agonizing, I can't bear to have it touched. I am caffeine free (I had heard that caffeine can cause painful breast so I cut it out of my diet completely), but the pain never changed. I have always heard that breast cancer is not painful, so I wasn't worried, but recently I was diagnosed with precancer cells on my cervix so now I'm sort of paranoid.
