Posted by Jennifer on 10/1/2003 from 68.154.193.130:

Hi - I have a lump that was biopsied by fine needle aspiration. It was solid not a cyst. I just had a call from the surgeon who said, "the pathologist's report showed benign ductal epithelial cells." My mammogram & ultrasound was negative. The surgeon wants to see me in 2 weeks to check me & discuss what the next step should be. And I'm confused. Does benign not mean everything is ok?? And he said perhaps the next step would be another type of biopsy. I'm starting to think I just want the lump gone so I can quit worrying. Now I have 2 more weeks to wonder what is going on.
Any opinions would be appreciated. Thank you.
