There are programs for individuals that have no insurance and qualify. The medical center should be aware if there are any state or federal programs that would be available for your mother-in-law.

The Breast and Cervical Cancer Prevention and Treatment Act of 2000 gave each state the option to provide medical assistance through Medicaid to eligible women.
