Posted by Sharla on 9/9/2003 from 67.162.229.72:

My mother-in-law has been diagnosed with breast cancer and has already had one biopsy done. She is in stage 3 and wants to be treated at MD Anderson. They have all sorts of scans and tests lined up along with chemo, etc. However, since she doesn't have insurance they want 75% of the cost of chemo treatment upfront. That's $105K plus some! I have been trying to help her out by researching the internet for companies, organizations or even private parties that would be willing to help her out in any way they can with the cost of treatment. I realize that so many men and women go through this cancer hell each and every year...but I have to ask! Does anyone know of any financial resources available??
