There are a number of things that can cause these tiny spots. There is the possibility of scar tissue causing some different shadowing effects on the mammogram or calcifications that occur normally in the breast. But it is very wise that your mother’s provider wants to check it out to be sure.

I have heard of radiofrequency ablation for liver cancer and it has had some success. I am not aware of any clinical trials currently taking place with this type of treatment and breast cancer.

I would recommend waiting to see the outcome of your mother’s follow-up tests with her doctor before you begin to research other forms of cancer treatment to see if it is even necessary. If that is the case, I would be glad to speak with both you and your mother and send you information. But lets not put the cart before the horse.

AN IMPORTANT REMINDER: It is very difficult to render an opinion without knowing all the facts of any one particular case. But one strong recommendation we would like to make is that you pursue your question(s) with your own physicians. You should feel fully empowered to obtain a satisfactory answer and feel free to seek a second or third opinion.

Please feel free to contact me via email or our toll free number (866) 2 WIN ABC (294-6222)
