Posted by Poh Lian on 9/15/2002 from 172.147.201.81:

During my annual gyn check up, a palpable mass was felt in my right breast and I was asked to follow up for a ultrasound with a radiologist. The radiologist believes that my palpable mass is a fibroadenoma and recommends a biopsy. My surgeon recommends a removal right away without even discussing the risks, advantage and disadvantages of the biopsy. He even strongly suggests removing the mass if I am trying to get pregnant. I am aware of the different kinds of biopsy, do I have to get it remove if it is benign? I would like to get a second opinion but do not know which surgeon to consult with or what kind of questions need to asked. Please help.
