FAQ ]Posted by sheila on 5/23/2002 from 205.188.197.59:In february of 2002 I noticed I had some discharge from my right nipple. I have had several mammograms, a failed ductogram, a stereotactic biopsy, and a lumpectomy since February. I was first told that it might possibly be an intraductal papilloma. the mammogram did show a 3cm lump. The biopsy that was performed showed results of a fibroadenoma. This past week I had a lumpectomy which now I am told that it is not a fibroadenoma but a begign phylloide tumor. I have tried to get information on this type of breast tumor but have had little luck. I have read that it is a rare type of tumor and if not watched very carefully it can metatises rapidly and survival is very slim. Can you please tell me where to look for information on this tumor. I am only 34 years old and have a five year old at home. I need all the information I can get on this tumor. Thank You for your help.
Sheila
