Hello out there. I was dignosed with Lobular Carcinoma in Situ seven years ago. I lost my mom to breast cancer six years ago. My life has been crazy ever since.

I was in Italy three years ago and when I returned my CEA count was high and climbing. I have undergone 2 thyroid scans, 3 abdomenal cat skans, a CEA scan where I had to be injected with some sort of radioactive substance and sit under a machine for 3 hours 2 days in a row. Everything came back negative except for the last cat skan where they saw a cyst on my right ovary and a mass next to my uterus. After consulting with a gynecologist, exploratory surgery was booked for me without my even knowing. I blew up - sought a second opinion - one of the top gynecologic oncologists for women in the Boston area - had a second ultrasound (I have many of these) and it was determined that the mass was a pendunculated fibroid and the cyst was gone. Now I have to see her in 6 months for a stability check.

In the meantime, my oncologist (the one I've been seeing for 7 years) wants me to have a colonoscopy. I just feel like all of this is overkill. I am 52 years young and feel healthy and I believe these tests are hurting me - after my last cat skan I couldn't run for 2 days ( I run 5 miles/day)

Any one else out there suffering with tests? Should I just say NO to any more tests?

Pat....
