My mother was recently diagnosed with breast cancer following a biopsy that was positive. She had a modified radiacal mastectomy done and 2 of the 22 nodes were positive. One showed evidence of spread beyond the node capsule. Her drains are out now, and she has seen an oncologist. She is scheduled for bone, cat scans and chest x-ray. She was given several choices: take tamoxifen, take mild chemo followed by radiation, take aggressive chemo, then radiation. What do you suggest? Her cancer is stage IIb. She is 73. She is scared. Please help me, to help her.
