Dear Thomas:

I have asked my staff to check on the status of the personal profile that you completed on behalf of your mother, Betty Reynolds. The responses are normally processed within twenty-four hours. My staff is terrific and will be following up with you directly.

I am so delighted to hear the great news that all of your mother's tests were negative -- that is music to my ears!!

I underwent six-months of CMF eight years ago and tolerated the protocol very well. There are very effective anti-nausea drugs (antiemetics) such as Zofran that help a great deal. I did not have a port put in. Your mother will arrive at the best decision for herself. We have some great tips for patients undergoing chemotherapy on our web site in the "Help Yourself" section that you and your mother can access and print out for your ongoing reference.

We will be happy to discuss matching your mother with a Breast Buddy mentor and also have a lot of other very helpful resources that we can discuss with her and link her to. We have an informational video about Tamoxifen, Nutrition and Cancer, WIN ABC's extensive resource guide and much more depending upon her needs. Our staff members are also very wonderful patient advocates in addition to our Breast Buddy volunteers. Your mother is very fortunate to have your love and support -- never underestimate the powerful healing tools that you and they represent.

Thomas, I so appreciate hearing from you and please keep me up-to-date on how your mother is doing and how you are doing as well. If you would like us to send you the same information that we send to your mother (if that's okay with her) we will be delighted to do so; just let us know.

Please take care, be well, and let your mother know that I am holding you both in my thoughts and prayers.

Warmest personal regards,
Betsy
