Hi, I came across this site after numerous hours of searching the internet for some type of info for all the unanswered questions I have. I hope someone can help me. I am 31 years old. Three months ago I found a lump in my lower right breast. I also developed pain in both breasts. I went to the doctor and he wanted to monitor the lump for a month since I was found to be fibrocystic as a young teenager, he just figured it to pass after menstruation. Well it didn't. I went back to the doctor a month later as he suggested (if it didn't go away.) He scheduled me for a mammogram and an ultrasound the next day. My results came back normal but he knew I had a palpable lump so he assumed it was solid and told me that I should see a surgeon for a possible biopsy. Does it make any sense to have a lump not show up on either test??? Could the lump have been too small or missed? This was the end of December. Now since that time, I have developed a thick mass on the outer side of the same breast and my lump has grown double in size and I still have the same old nagging pain in both breats, the feeling of being pregnant... very sensitive and full. Anyway, in January, I saw the surgeon and he told me because my reports came back normal that I had nothing to worry about. He speculated on caffeine and under wire bras. Well, I very rarely consume caffeine or chocolate and I have stopped wearing under wire bras .I wear a proper fitting support bra and nothing has changed. I have another appointment with the surgeon at the end of the month but this has been eating at me for quite some time. I am curious as to what causes breast pain other than cyclic, non-cyclic, and skelatal. I have this pain day in and day out and it is driving me nuts more than the mysterious lump itself. Please help. Thanks!!!
Kelly
