FAQ Posted by Carol on 7/27/2000 from 152.163.206.198:I recently had bilateral (both brests) biopsies which turned up atypical hyperplasia. I am now on Tamoxifen because of these cells, and a strong family history of breast cancer. A nurse just asked me if I have always worn underwire bras. At 38DD, I sure have, ever since I can remember. She asked if my biopseies were at the site where the wire "pokes". Sure was, both sides, upper, near my armpit. She could not tell me where she heard this. Has anyone ever read any evidence of underwires and the relation to breast cancer?
