The Story Behind The Purpose

Betsy Mullen was diagnosed with breast cancer in 1992 at the age of thirty-three. Her personal experience transformed her from a confused and frightened patient into an informed patient advocate. Her determination and strength are focused toward helping others with breast cancer. Here's a closer look at Betsy in this 1998 Interview.

The Women's Information Network Against Breast Cancer [WIN ABC] is a national non-profit organization that grew from a partnership between Betsy and her surgeon. They realized that there was a vast need to enhance the level of care, education and support for breast cancer patients. Testimonials 

WIN Against Breast Cancer has helped thousands of breast cancer patients and their families throughout various stages of breast cancer, via the Breast Aid and the Breast Buddy Breast Care Programs. MISSION STATEMENT AND GOALS

To equip breast cancer patients with the knowledge and tools necessary to facilitate confident and informed decisions regarding their treatment options.

To provide ongoing peer support for breast cancer patients throughout the diagnosis, treatment and recovery process.

To collaborate with the health care community in addressing the complex medical and psychosocial issues facing breast cancer patients in order to establish improved standards of care.

To educate breast cancer patients, their families and the public about the importance of personal health responsibility and how to partner with their health care team to receive the comprehensive care and support they need.
