As a Breast Buddy volunteer, you are not supposed to solve your Buddy's problems for her; she needs to do that for herself. You can, however, give your Buddy some tools and information to help. The following worksheet will assist her.

To help solve a problem, answer the following five questions:

Example: Your Breast Buddy needs to make a treatment decision.

1. Who?

Example:  Who can help her get the information that she needs to make a decision?

2. What?

Example:  What kind of information (written, video, etc.) will best help your Buddy?

3. When?

Example:  When does your Buddy need to let her doctor(s) know her decision(s)?

4. Where?

Example:  Where is the best place to find the necessary information?

5. How?

Example:  How can you best help your Breast Buddy gather the information that she  needs to make an informed decision?
