FAQ ]Posted by Holly on 2/23/2004 from 205.188.208.136:Dear BC Survivors- my name is Holly Costar and I'm a graduate student who became interested in breast cancer related research when my Mom was diagnosed two years ago. Please help me find participants for my study by sharing the below message with your spouses:
If breast cancer has touched the life of someone close to you, you may be in the unique position of helping us with our research. I am a psychology graduate student working with a psychologist at the University of Maryland to study the effects of the breast cancer experience on the spouses of breast cancer survivors. While much research has aimed to understand the impact of breast cancer on survivors themselves, far fewer studies have placed similar focus on the people who often serve as the survivors' main source of support: their spouses. It is our hope that this study will provide more information about the reactions- both positive and negative- of the partners of breast cancer survivors in order to better assist this population in the future.
We hope you will be willing to help! Please check out our website at http://www.bcpartnerstudy.com to learn more about the study. Also, since it is very important that we include a wide range of people in our research, please FORWARD THIS EMAIL to any friends or relatives who may be interested in participating!
Many thanks,
Holly M. Costar, B.A. and Mary Ann Hoffman, Ph.D.:
