FAQ ]Posted by Susie on 9/26/2003 from 64.146.131.184:About a month ago, I noticed that my left breast hurt when I took my bra off. I fooled around with it, and found it hurt right below the nipple. The next morning, I fooled with it some more, and found a tiny lump below the left breast that seems to be right underneath the skin. I went in and requested an ultrasound (the RNP could not feel the lump), and the ultrasound did not show anything. I mentioned it to another ARNP that I am seeing for postpartum thyroiditis problems, and she checked the lump and felt it right away. She ordered another ultrasound (which showed nothing), and is now going to send me to a surgeon for a biopsy because she says that lumps should never be ignored after this long. I'm only 26 years old, and I have 2 small children at home. I'm scared to death! Could this just be a after-breastfeeding thing or postpartum thing?
