Posted by Pam on 9/9/2003 from 68.0.33.192:

I have had this same problem for a few years now and I JUST yesterday thought it might be more than it really is after seeing a self breast exam pamphlet in the pharmacy and seeing how your suppose to check your nipples as well.!

I do a breast exam every week or so in the shower and have noticed no real changes in the breast itself. However for the past year or so I have noticed that I have whitehead looking bumps in my nipples and one spot that is the same on my aerola of one breast. when I do my breast exams in the shower I never really have checked my nipples since I usually do the exam while soaped up and slippery .

Yesterday I squeezed the nipple like it stated to do in the guide and white stuff came out, almost like the solid substance that comes out of a white head on your face, arm or back. It is not just in one spot but all around both nipples. I also have one spot on my right nipple where it will sometimes come and it is not solid but almost the consistancy of pus (sorry for the graphics) It really freaked me out when it said to report ANY nipple discharge to your Dr ASAP. Do I consider this discharge?

I have no known history of breast cancer in my family, but if there is something to begin a medical history in a family I will start it as I have migraines and thyroid issues.

Has ANYONE had anything like this and what was it. Should I be concerned? I will definetly have it looked at but it wont be until the 16th since I just had surgery for cystocele/rectocele and a bladder sling 3 weeks ago and have since then gotten an infection in every incision I have. I am still in alot of pain and have been ORDERED to rest and not drive until my post-op appt.

Thanks for any information anyone can give me!!!

HUGS to you all!!!
