Posted by anne on 7/30/2003 from 12.162.144.200:

Three years ago, at age 37, I had my first mammo which came back negative.
This year, when I had my mammo and breast ultrasound, the radiologist reports came back as follows......small non-clustered calcification left retro-areolar area. no suspicious clustered microcalcifications. A couple of benign cysts (found on ultrasound) which measured no more than 3mm x 3mm, and a small fibroadenoma which measured no more than 4mm x 4mm.

These were all called benign findings, and I have no history of cancer in my family.

Still, I'm worried. Isn't this a lot of new stuff to pop up in just 3 years?
Can I expect new growths with each mammo and ultrasound I have?
I guess I just need reassurance.

BTW, an expert breast surgeon and and a second expert radiologist reviewed all my films and agreed that they saw nothing worrisome. She will be following me though.

Any words of reassurance you can provide would be most welcome.

Anne
