Laura,

Thank you for writing for your mom. If cancer cells are found in the lymph channels or blood vessels, it means that cancer may have traveled to areas beyond the breast.

Was an axillary node dissection performed after the sentinal node biopsy?

Generally, if positive cancer cells are found in either the node or lymph vessels... it would indicate chemotherapy of some sort.
