I know that it is scary to think you might have cancer and to have to wait. But if the doctors thought it might be cancer, they would send you for additional testing and eventually a biopsy, because that is the only definitive way to know if you have breast cancer.
If they told you to come back in 6 months, then perhaps it is something they want to follow closely but aren't immediately concerned. You might want to ask your doctors about an ultrasound, which is another diagnostic test.
Please keep in mind that we are not health care providers. Also, it is very difficult to render an opinion without knowing all the facts of any one particular case. One strong recommendation we would like to make is that you pursue your question(s) with your own physicians. You should feel fully empowered to obtain a satisfactory answer and feel free to seek a second or third opinion.
WIN ABC is here as a resource for you. Please contact our office toll free at (866) 2 WIN ABC (294-6222). We can speak with you directly to help with your concerns and send you information, free of charge, to help you understand and know the right questions to ask.
