FAQ ]Posted by Shelly Blechman on 10/31/2002 from 216.117.218.7:In reply to: montgomery glands posted by julia on 10/27/2002 from 208.2.157.78:
The Montgomery Glands are large sebaceous glands capable of secreting milk: they represent an intermediate stage between sweet and mammary glands.*
While they may be more prominent during pregnancy and nursing, I have really have not been able to find much on the ‘appearance’ or ways to reduce their prominence.
Many breasts and areola differ so much that what may seem 'normal' for one is totally unobtainable for others. Areola size, color, texture varies from person to person as well as general breast size, shape and tone.
Please keep in mind that we are not health care providers. Also, it is very difficult to render an opinion without knowing all the facts of any one particular case. One strong recommendation we would like to make is that you pursue your question(s) with your own physicians. You should feel fully empowered to obtain a satisfactory answer and feel free to seek a second or third opinion.
