I am not aware of the type of prosthesis you have so I could not say which one would be lighter. Have you discussed this with your doctor or case manager where you are being treated?

There is a company that you can check out via the Internet that has very nice prostheses and breast enhancers at very reasonable costs. This could hold you until your insurance appeal comes through (Please see the link below).

You can contact your local American Cancer Society office (800) ACS-2345 as they can provide you with a free temporary prosthesis. They also have a prosthesis and wig bank and may have something that will work for you.

I do not know what city you live in, but if you check your local directory for medical or health care supplies, sometimes they have certified prosthesis fitters and they may be able to help you. Penny’s also has prostheses in their catalog 1 (800) 932-4115 that are reasonable and lighter weight.

I would be glad to speak with you directly and help you find some other resources. We will also send you information to help you through this time if you would like to call or send me an email.
