I am so sorry to hear about all you have been going through with the various treatments and reactions to them. I wish I could speak with you directly to give you some words of comfort and reassurance. You mentioned quite a few different types of chemotherapy. Were you estrogen/progesterone positive? Femara has had good results with many people. What about Arimidex? Have you been tested for Her2Neu so that you might be able to take Herceptin? What about surgery…liver resection or Cryosurgical (freezing) tumor ablation? They may be able to treat tumors with radiation therapy.
I do not know where you are being treated, but you still have the option of seeking second opinions.
There are still a number of other types of treatment, different protocols and various clinical trials. I know a number of women who have been living for years with metastatic breast cancer. You never know what will work for you. There is always hope.
I want to recommend a very good book for you to read…”Holding Tight, Letting Go: Living with Metastatic Breast Cancer” by Musa Mayer. This book is a wonderful resource that I believe will help you deal with your situation.
In the meantime, please know that we are here for you. You may send me an email or call toll free (866) 294-6222. I would truly love to speak with you and send you information that would be beneficial to you.
Sincerely,
Shelly Blechman
