I understand your desire to find things to help your mother. I think researching these types of alternatives is very important as there are many products out there that make unsubstantiated claims. While MGN 3 may be intended as something to boost the immune system, everything of this nature should really be discussed with your healthcare team. Sometimes, these types of things may actually interfere with chemotherapy treatment. For people who are healthy, this may or may not be a good addition to their healthcare regime, though taking things to boost the immune system should only be taken for a specific periods of time as they may loose their effectiveness after awhile. There is no magic bullet and no one thing may be have answer you are seeking.
I think that the best way to boost the immune system is through good nutrition, adding lots of raw fruits and vegetables to your diet and perhaps adding whole food supplementation. That way, you are really getting all the nutrients into your body the way nature intended.
