FAQ ]Posted by Susan W on 2/25/2002 from 12.152.116.130:I had a DIEP flap reconstruction last summer with Dr. Allen in New Orleans. Since then I have been trying to spread the word about the DIEP/SIEA flap.
Last fall I met the Regional Breast Care Coordinator for the Department of Defense Health Services Region IV. I asked if she was aware of the DIEP. She said yes and that it was included with other reconstruction methods on her WEB site. She asked me to submit my story. It was posted today. Unfortunately anything that would identify Dr. Allen or even New Orleans was deleted so it did not appear they were advertising. I had included more about how they developed the DIEP flap. See his site at http://www.diepflap.com
Check out the DoD Health Services Region IV Breast Health Information Site. Click Personal stories. Mine is the DIEP story.
