Posted by Maryanne Kerr on 1/24/2002 from 198.81.16.158:

I am dealing with metastatic breast cancer. I have had whole brain radiation and now need the gamma knife. However, my onc is saying that I am not a candidate for gamma knife because I have more than 4 tumors, larger than 3 cm. The onc is saying there are no other options for me. I want the gamma knife to zap the tumors growing and giving me trouble. Im not asking for all tumors to be zapped. The onc says I have "too many to count" tumors. Where can I go to get the gamma knife done, preferably in California. Where they will help me for my need to live and not immediately want to put me in hospice just because my tumors are everywhere. Thank you for your help.
