Dear Elly,

We encourage you to consult with your physician. The contraceptive pills of today are low dose estrogen and the studies that have been released do state the risk is minimal of breast cancer. However, you do need to check with your doctor because of your family history.

Ask you physician to evaluate you overall risk using the Gail Model Assesment tool.
