Posted by Donna on 1/3/2002 from 65.230.32.65:

I am scheduled for a Stero Biopsy on Monday. The radiologist assured me that she could numb the area sufficient enough that I would feel no pain and if I did start to feel pain, she would inject more. She also gave me her ext. phone number and told me that if I felt like I would need valium or something before I came that she would phone me in some. Wait a minute, she first told me I would feel no pain and then offered pre-medication?? I have also read on other websites about women who experienced extreme pain during this procedure. What should I do? Take something before I go, or hope that it will be painless other than the stick of the needle for numbing?
