Hello,
I am starting chemo in one week and am scared. I am 42 years old and had a mastectomy last month. I now have 6 months of chemo a head of me. I am interested in hearing from other women who have went through this and if they have any tips or advice on what worked well for them. Did certain medications work for the nausea or was that a problem? Did anyone not loose their hair? I am 42 and have always had long hair. I have a wig picked out, should I cut my hair first or wait. The chemo drugs are adriamycin and cytoxan. I also have to have radiation for 6 weeks during the last 6 weeks of chemo. I would also like to hear from anyone who has had reconstruction. I am small chested, a padded A cup. I consulted with a plastic surgeon and she talked about 2 options. One was (flap?) taking skin from my stomach and putting it on my breast area and then using a small implant (she said I am lacking fat to completely fill the breast) or the other option was using the expander implant. I would really like to hear from others as things are happening so fast and I am having difficulty keeping up with everything I feel I should know. Also, I plan on working, how have other women done working full time? Please write with any helpful advice.
Thank you and take care, Jae
