FAQ ]Posted by Brenda Fitzsimmons on 10/4/2001 from 142.166.169.175:I was diagnosed with advanced (node positive) breast cancer in 1991. I had 6 months of chemo and 25 radiation treatments. It metastisized to my liver in 1993. I was on Tamoxifen for 5 years and it arrested the tumors and I had many good years. I was just found out a week ago that it has metastasized, yet again, and it is now in my bones. I am again on Tamoxifen and also Ostac (Clodronate), a bone strengthing drug. Is there anything more I can be doing for myself, is there anyone else in a similar situation? I have always had a really good attitude and am a very optimistic person; but right now I feel really scared. I'm reading about staging, prognosis, no cure, etc. and I am need of some support, answers, ANYTHING! I am 60 yrs. old, no children, live on an island, far away from doctors, hospitals, etc.
Any encouragement you can give me would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
