I would think that these changes in nipple size that you discussed might be related to hormonal changes. Perhaps you are just now noticing an enlarged nipple when your breasts tend to swell as you get closer to the time of your period. Also, a number of women do have a variance between the sizes of each breast and this could be more pronounced during your monthly cycle.

Though I am a knowledgeable lay-person, I am not a health care provider. I would like to encourage you to pursue your question(s) with your own physicians. You should feel fully empowered to obtain a satisfactory answer and feel free to seek a second opinion. We have some great tips on partnering with your health care team and communication tips to help you get the information you need. We would also be glad to send you some information on breast health.
