I understand your fears but want to emphasize that breast cancer at your age is very rare, even with a family history. I think it is very good that you are diligent and are your own best advocate.

There are any number of possibilities as to why you might have a lump and all but one of them are benign breast conditions. Don't worry if nothing shows up on the mammogram as women who are young have very dense breasts and frequently lumps are not detectable. If this is the case they could do a follow-up ultrasound to determine if the lump is solid or fluid filled, then determine where to go from there.
You are doing the right thing by having a doctor check everything out just to be sure.
