I had my first mammogram at the age of 40, 2 years ago. Haven't had any problems until this year. A .5mm sharply-circumscribed nodule was found. Breasts are moderately dense, fibroglandular tissue is noted. The report says that it is almost certainly benign and it suggests that I have a mammogram in 6 months. My question is...should I wait the 6 months, or pursue it further and find out if I should go sooner, like in 3 months? I've heard that sometimes women are told that they are ok and to wait and that turned out to be a tragic mistake. Thank you
