FAQ ]Posted by Kathy on 9/7/2001 from 63.57.42.251:Hi everyone, I'm 46 years old and had an ultrasound guided core biopsy this morning as an 'abnormality' was found on my mammogram/ultrasound. Apparently I'm an unusual case and they can't quite figure me out. Before the biopsy I was told there's a very good chance it won't tell them what they need to know, due to placement of the abnormality, and the likelyhood of me also having to have a surgical biopsy is high. Is this normal? He had to put all his body weight into it just to get the needle to go in (said something about tissue from an old injury?) Has anyone had to go through more than one biopsy before the docs figured out what's going on? He stated he was just about certain it was benign, but we have to be sure. Why would they not just have done the surgical biopsy the first time around? Thank you, and my thoughts are with you all.
