FAQ ]Posted by Cookie on 9/6/2001 from 63.21.131.20:Hi all, I just had my mammo and ultra sound and a 2 centermeter mass was found in my right breast. I'm scheduled to see a breast surgeon in Oct. for a biopsy. I rushed and bought the mammo films and written report to the surgeons office because I wanted her to review them in case she feels that I need the biopsy sooner. A month is a long time to wait to see if you have cancer. My question is, does the biopsy hurt? Do I need to schedule a day off or 2 for the needle biopsy done in the office, and if it is the biopsy that is done in the hospital, what is the average recovery from that? I work in retail, where I'm raising my arms, reaching high up for merchandise, bumping into floor racks all the time. These 46DDD's get in the way of everything I do. If I'm diagnosed to have breast cancer, what is the average disability time frame? You see, My husband is disabled with congested heart failure, my 17 year old son is a type I diabetic and a senior in High school and I who have fibromyalgia,3 herniated lubar disc, I'm the bread winner. I need a time frame of disability to plan borrowing money from my 401k to get us thru. All of you know how expensive the senior year of high school is. Any info is helpful. I know that I'm taking this abnormal mammo to the worst senario, but I hate surprises and this mammo was a shock because there is no breast cancer in my family.
