Posted by Mike Randall on 4/4/2001 from 152.163.207.82:

My mother had inflamatory breast cancer. Her treatments
were...chemotherapy cycles...then surgery...then radiation
and finally more cycles of chemotherapy with TAXOL this time.
I am aware that a side effect of taxol is bone pain, but
in my mother's case her pain was so severe that she required
hospitalization for the pain.
At the hospital they gave her various oral pain medications
and pain medications through hypodermic injections. They all had little to
no effect in relieving her pain. This dumb founded the doctors as to why the meds had little effect.
Her pain was so severe and throughout her entire skeletal
system.
PLEASE....can anyone shed any light as to why she had so
much pain with no relief from all the pain meds she was given.
After her surgery and radiation treatments no cancer was found in any part of her body so I know the pain was not
cancer related.
Please help shed some light...Thank you
