Posted by Judy on 2/28/2001 from 152.163.207.51:

8 years ago I had breast cancer and some of what they found was Infiltrating Lobular Breast Cancer, Lobular Cancer Insitu (LCIS), Atypical Lobular Hyperplasia, and Atypical Ductal Hyperplasia, and I had a lumpectomy and radiation at the time. I just had my annual Mammogram which found that I have an area of Clustered Califications in the other breast. Because of my previous breast cancer,it's too risky to just "watch it". So, I am going to have a Biopsy, (first, they'll locate it with that "wire"). But, I'm frightened to have to go through all of this worry again. I thought maybe I could get some comfort here and information. My doctor said the results either could be a cancer, pre-cancer or then again it could be a benign finding too. So, what's your opinions on what the worse case scenario that they'll find, or what's the "usual" that they find when there's Clustered Calcifications.
Also, another question: Because of scheduling, the Biopsy may either be done in 1 week or in 2 weeks. If it has to wait for 2 weeks, am I running the risk that if it's something malignant, that it may spread out and go in the lymph nodes because of the delay?? Thanks, Judy
