In reply to: Telling children about breast cancer posted by Debbie on 8/24/2000 from 208.153.11.101:

Hello, Debbie. I left out an important detail in my first response to you. When my 6-year old niece saw me undressed for the first time, and since, she was and is, unphased by my scars. She continues to ask me questions about breast cancer (she is now 8-years old) and our talks together about breast cancer are all very realistic and healthy.

Paige and her brother, Brendon, are growing up to be amazing advocates. Being upfront and honest with Paige and my nephew, Brendon about my experiences with breast cancer has turned out to be very positive for everyone.

Best regards,
Betsy
