FAQ ]Posted by Kathi on 8/19/2000 from 205.188.197.37:In reply to: Re: Breast Cancer and Multiple Sclerosis posted by Betsy Mullen on 8/17/2000 from 152.163.194.191:
Dear Betsy,
Thank you for your response, coupled with my conversation with Shelly yesterday I feel much better. I did receive word from my oncology surgeon that my HMO PHS/Guardian has approved my surgery, financially it must be wiser to remove the breast then reconstruct one where "major areas of concern" are present. Shelly was absolutely on the mark when she told me that my oncology surgeon most likely would be my best advocate! As I explained to Shelly I am much to weary to step up on my soap box (something I have done quite successfully in the past) to beg my HMO to cut off my breast! I am grateful for your help and I have printed out your e-mail to share with my husband. I am very happy to see Senator Joe as a Vice Presidental candidate and along with my daughters will campaign for him. Again, thank you. I look forward to receiving the literature Shelly spoke to me about. You are angels! Sincerely, Kathi
