Dear Susan,
It sounds like you have been through quite a lot. I understand your hesitency to "trust", but you might be letting your paranoia get the better of you. Although I am not a physician, my experience has led me to believe that core biopsies are fairly accurate. Plus they can help avoid unneccessary surgeries. 80% of all biopsies are benign. So the odds are in your favor. Having frequent excisional biopsies can cause scar tissue to develop that may make it difficult to detect future tumors via mammogram (either benign or malignant)
You feel like this is "foreign" and yet it is natural for women's breasts to have lumps and bumps (cycsts and fibroadenomas) in them. I would be glad to send you information about this or speak to you directly to help allay some of your fears. You may email me or call 626/332-2255
