One week ago I found a hard, very small (bb size) lump in my right breast. I immediately called my dr. and was in her office the next day. The next day she sent me for a mammogram (regular and spot) and after that was done I was immediately sent for an ultrasound. It doesn't seem to move around much (which isn't good) and seems slightly sore. (Of course this could be from having my breast flattened 4 times also.) The next afternoon I was informed that I would need to consult a surgeon for a biopsy. That appointment will take place on Monday, April 3rd.

The only history in my family is a maternal aunt who was diagnosed with it in her 80's. (She is doing fine by the way.) I am overweight by about 80 lbs., I don't smoke. I am very worried about this lump but am trying to think positive. I know that I found it early (I had a mammogram in November of 99) but it is still hard to deal with. If it is found to be malignant I have read of all the options that are available. If it isn't malignant do they do surgery to remove it anyway or do they leave it be?

Thanks in advance to anyone who can enlighten me some more on this subject...
