Thank you Betsy and Denise for your help and information.

While I had bi-lateral mastectomies the right breast was free from cancer. The left breast had the cancer but no node involment. I had suffered with fibro-cystic breast disease for years and had had 3 lumpectomies and a biopsy. I am very comfortable with the choice I made as I had a lot of help from other medical people, my priest, my family and friends.

Now on to Tamoxifen-I am experiencing atleast 4-7 hot flashes a day and Bellergel and Soy Capsules DO NOT HELP. My Gyn said there was nothing more I could do.

I still have slight ankle and foot swelling but my Oncologist does not want to prescribe a dierutic as I already take a blood pressure pill. I was told to wear support hose welllllllllll now I have a very infected vulva (just lft side) so between the hose(I no longer wear) the hot flashes and probably lack of Estrogen I have developed another problem.

Infrequently I also feel light-headed and sick at my stomach.

I would like to know if anyone has had similar problems or stopped taking Tamoxifen. I was told my chances of Cancer returning without Tamo would br less that 15-20% and 10-14% with Tamo.

I am seriously thinking about getting off.

Thanks for letting me spew.

I do have a call in for my Oncologist..
